Note to self: learn to appreciate the things you were afraid of or the things you used to hate.
I used to be scared of the ocean. I used to hate the beach. I hated the feeling of sand, the coldness of the water, and the stuffiness of the beach. I used to avoid it so much, but ever since I’ve been spending time there with people I care about the most, I’ve come to appreciate it. I think it’s even more special now because I used to associate the beach with just swimming in the daytime.. but now I associate it with late night talks on the sand, holding hands under the pier, testing the waters to see if it was cold, sunsets on the cliffs, and just the calmness of it all. I’ve never felt more at peace than in those moments.
